About our Leadership Accelerator programme
The Impact Black leadership accelerator programme is a 3 month course designed for ambitious Black professionals who want to do something to create greater racial justice but also want the skills and experience to move into senior leadership positions. Our programme will match you with a structured project where you can use your skills to help a racial justice organisation. During this time you will also have access to a series of workshops, coaching and group sessions designed to unleash your leadership potential and provide steps for your personal career progression.

Leadership workshops
Your development during the placement is a central part of our accelerator programme. We plan to equip you with the knowledge and understanding necessary to become a self-actualising leader in your field and teach you what is needed for you to have an impact whilst on the programme and beyond that.

Placements
You will be matched with an organisation that works towards creating racial justice and/ or empowering individuals from minority backgrounds. You will work on a strategic project that will help the organisations to better serve these communities.

One to one Coaching
Coaching is an important part of this programme and is offered to ensure that participants leave the programme with a clear set of actions they can take to reach their career aspirations and social action goals.

Peer Support
We have organised two peer support sessions designed to bring the cohort together to discuss problems they have encountered on their leadership journey and collectively share their knowledge and experiences to help address these issues.

After the programme
We remain invested in the growth, progression and impact of each person that takes our programmes. After our programme is complete you’ll be invited to join our alumni and gain access to resources, events, additional training and support.
Programme modules
Understanding Racial Inequality and how to tackle it. Exploring how the quality of life of people form minoritised backgrounds has been affected by systemic racial inequality. The programme also explores organisations, policies and approaches aimed at addressing these issues.
The Art of Leadership: Discussing leadership as a concept. We will identify your personal leadership style, response styles as well as leadership theories and how they apply to your day to day work.
Effective communication: Learn how to communicate effectively to be heard, understood, reach specific goals and influence key stakeholders. You will also learn how to manage your own professional relationships and personal wellbeing using communication.
Managing People: Considering the communication approaches that are needed to effectively manage others, as well as how to set clear performance outcomes and manage challenging situations with your staff.
Managing Projects: Sharing knowledge about how to manage of large and complex projects. We cover some of the core principles of project management in addition to problem solving techniques.
Solving Complex Problems: Covering how we can identify problems and use frameworks for developing and implementing solutions to solve them.

At this stage of Impact Black’s development we are targeting primarily Black professionals because this group are disproportionally underrepresented in leadership across professions. We feel that it is important for those who are directly impacted by racial injustice to lead this change.

Matching
Once we have confirmed your place on the programme we will match you with a project with a racial justice organisation.

Start the programme with a small cohort of colleagues who you will be able to network with and exchange ideas
Programme Fees
May 2024
The full value of this programme is £2299 per person or £2099 without coaching. We also have bursaries available to reduce the cost which we can discuss with applicants. We can also invoice sponsoring employers.
